Our client has been providing insurance to their members for over 40 years. They are a not- for- profit organisation, run by Kiwis for Kiwis, so they know what New Zealanders want and need from their insurance partner. Due to rapid business growth, they are seeking to appoint an additional .NET/ Database Developer on an initial fixed-term contract for 12months.

You will be responsible for database centric software development projects of moderate to high complexity. Working alongside a Technical Lead, a Senior Developer, and Data Analyst, you will assist with the design, development and data modelling, as well as gathering requirements from the business users.

Ideally you would have come from a hands on C# and .NET development background, being experienced in MS SQL Server 2012 and understand and have been exposed to the SDLC. You may not have used any data modelling tools but you will be familiar with the principals of data modelling. You will be endorsed in a mix of project and BAU work and be heavily involved in the decisions made, to improve the current infrastructure.

Essential Skills:
  • 3+ years experience with MS SQL Server 2012 
  • At least 2 years C#/. NET development experience including WinForms & Web Services
  • An understanding of Data Modelling

  • Excellent verbal, written and communication skills
  • Some Business Analysis skills
Desired Skills:
  • Experience using Crystal reports or another reporting tool such as SSRS
  • A working knowledge of the insurance industry
