A PMO Manager is required for a 6-month rolling contract; 2-year programme of work. This is an exciting opportunity based in Wellington CBD.

A highly experienced PMO Manager required to establish and lead the PMO function of this government organisation.

As PMO Manager you will be responsible for establishing PMO strategy, leading the execution of a PMO Governance, Reporting and Review framework and identifying new and innovative Project Management approaches.

Leading a small team, you will need to assume accountability for the successful delivery of Projects and engage with the C-Level stakeholders and business staff, as well as external vendors and contractors. This is a great opportunity for a highly experienced individual to use their expertise to help build a functional PMO.

To be Successful:
  • You must have managed PMO functions and delivered complex Technology implementations, while experience in the government sector would be extremely advantageous.
  • You must have a strong awareness of the relationship between PMO and other business functions, including Finance and Procurement and be able to navigate a successful path which incorporates the strategic aims of all of these.
  • You must have proven ability to engage directly with C-Level stakeholders and managing the communication of sensitive information. Vendor management skills are required and you should also have hands-on team management experience.
This is a crucial role within the organisation and is a chance to create a sustainable structure while operating with senior stakeholders.
