My client is a global leader and one of the fastest growing ICT consulting and services here in New Zealand. They deliver business solutions combining consulting, technology and software solutions.

Due to this continued success and growth, my client is looking to expand their sales team with a focus on crafting and executing an NZ government strategy.

The Senior Business Development Manager's role is incredibly vital to the strategic direction in the Wellington market. The purpose of which will be to build and cultivate relationships and opportunities for new NZ government accounts including selling new service offerings and solutions.  You will also manage relationships with key client personnel and CXO's within the client's organisation and have the ability to understand the organisational culture of the client.

We are looking for a Business Development Manager who is a self-starter with previous experience in sales and proven experience in the NZ government industry. You will be outcome focused and will be capable of thinking both tactically and strategically. The successful candidate will ideally have experience working in the global onshore/offshore matrix model.

Essential Experience/Skills: 
  • A self-starter that can work independently to grow a new business area
  • Significant business development and project management experience
  • A background within software and  application environments
  • Good experience in the NZ government industry
  • Track record of pursuing and winning large IT services deals
  • Good understanding of industry-specific business issues and drivers
  • Track record of interacting and building the relationship with C-level client contacts
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • A wide variety of IT and business consulting engagement experience
  • Hands-on experience with proposal creation and leading proposal presentations
  • Strong Sales/Relationship Management/Account Management experience
  • Relevant tertiary qualification
