I never thought finding a super Senior Systems Engineer would be akin to pulling teeth...... If you are someone multifaced in what you do, and someone who's had your hands "in it all" so to speak, then this role is for you.

In fact if you come from one of those small team environements, have had a sole charge role and/or come from an MSP environment, then you will be ideal for this organisation.

They've been pretty picky recently, and have turned a few people down because they simply haven't hit the mark with the technical requirements - so please - read on if you're at the top of your game.

You will be working with a NZ owned IT managed services company.  You will be maintaining and supporting customers' IT infrastructure as well as doing BAU.

This client offers the right candidate stability.  Longevity. Exposure to lots of different types of environments.  A very competitive salary as well as being a very family focussed organisation.  They really do look after their employees.

From a technical perspective, they want someone highly skilled in:
  • The Core MS roles (AD, DN, DHCP etc0
  • At least regularly using server 2008 or 2012
  • You must have come from a Microsoft Shop
  • Some form of virtualisation experience is a must - VMWare or Hyper-V
  • Real office 365, Azure or Skype for Business experience is a plus (When we say real experience-we mean used and deployed please)
Someone multi-facted in what you do, is the most ideal person - many of the candidates we're hitting have been slid into roles - eg: I only touch exchange, or I only do Network Switching.

Ideally we're looking for a candidate who's had his hands in it all, so guys coming from those small team environments, sole charge role, and /or MSP environments will be probably the most ideal.

We're also looking for someone who's willing to do both BAU and Project work - it's not going to be a full on project role, like with most MSP's it's always going to be a mix of both - a pure project role just isn't feasible in our type of environment.
